POINT BREAK SERIES CHALLENGE AT PIC

Four rounds down and one to go in the Point Break Series Challenge at the Pacific Islands Club, and no matter how much water flows through the park, the competition continues to heat up. If you haven’t yet been down to try the Flow Rider at the PIC, you can still compete on September 11.

There are singles, doubles and big trick competitions throughout the tri-month series that is sponsored in part by Coca Cola. Men and women will be grouped into age divisions 12-and-under, 13-17, 18-34, and 35-and-over, and there are still some openings available.

To be a part of all of the action, venture down PIC information counter and pick up an entry form. It’s only $10 to enter one any one of the events, but $30 will grant you access to all five surf-off’s, special discounts, and PIC facility privileges.

HYATT GOLF CLASSIC SET FOR SEPT. 25

Hyatt Regency Saipan is proud to announce that its 9th Annual Club of the Hyatt Golf Classic will take place on Sept. 25 at the Kingfisher Golf Links.

Like in the previous years, Club of the Hyatt Golf Classic will once again donate 100 percent of its proceeds to the CNMI’s Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Check in time for the tourney is between 6:30-7:25am, with shot gun at 7:30am.

A fee of $95 will be required for participants who are Club Elan and Club at the Hyatt members, while non-members will be charged $110. The fees must be submitted by September 21.

The tournament features a 6-person scramble and hole-in-one prizes, among others.

This year’s Club of the Hyatt Golf Classic will also culminate with a fantastic banquet at the Hyatt poolside. Guests for the banquet who do not take part in the tournament will be charged $35.

SAIPAN FISHING TOURNEY THIS WEEKEND
The 20th Annual Saipan International Fishing Tournament will be held on Sept. 11 and 12, and boats from Guam, Palau, Rota, and Tinian are expected to grace the two-day fishing tourney.
The top three ranks will be awarded in the following game fish categories: Bill fish, yellow fin, wahoo, mahi mahi, and skip jack. Cash prizes will be awarded to the first participant to land a marlin weighing over 624.34 lbs. and a yellow fin tuna weighing over 106 lbs.
Applications for the event, containing the rules and schedules of the event will soon be available at the Marianas Visitors Authority and the Fishing Tackle Shop.
