The group was composed of 13 members of the Saipan Awaodori Team, 12 staffers of Kinpachi Restaurant, and Yoko Horimoto, mother of one of the Saipan Awaodori Team members.

Sonia Siwa of PDM Promoters said most of the trash they collected were dried leaves, bushes, cigarette butts, empty beer bottles, and cans from the road next to Winchell’s to Coral Tree Avenue, Paseo de Marianas, then to the fire station and the length of Beach Road up to Joeten Shopping Center.

Siwa noted that there was “usual trash” from various businesses within Paseo de Marianas area when the group collected trash in the area.

“We cannot say that the trash came from the Street Market since the event was relocated to the Garapan Fishing Base and that the Division of Parks and Recreation just collected the trash last Thursday afternoon,” Siwa lamented.
