Bud Light extends record to 3-0
Bud Light won a squeaker against Exclusive to grab a league-best 3-0 win-loss record Friday night as action continued in the 2004 Men’s Island Wide Slow Pitch Softball League at the Oleai Sports Complex.
In a game that featured a slew of offense and six lead changes, Bud Light outlasted Exclusive in a two-run thriller, 19-17. The bats of Bud continued to blaze as the silver canners connected with 25 hits.

The low-carb colossus was led by another strong performance by Mel Sakisat. No matter what league that he has been playing in, Sakisat has been on fire. On Friday he went 5-for-five, smacked a homer, doubled, batted in six runs, and hit a trio of singles.
Jeff Diaz added to the elimination of the Eliminators by equaling Sakisat’s perfection at the plate, going 5-for-5 with a double, four singles, two ribbies and two runs scored. JJ Laniyo poured on the “O” with a single, a triple, and a dinger to go 3-for-4. Laniyo also racked up a pair of RBI’s at the plate.
The second game of the night had the artist formerly known as Verizon—La Chai, and the Freedom Air Flyers trading blows. The Flyers were able to stave off the upset by eking out a 21-20 victory in the bottom of the seventh inning top advance to 2-0.
At the end of four innings, the flyboys were ahead 17-5, and that’s when La Chai turned on La Offense. The Chai guys slugged five in the fifth and exploded for nine in the sixth to take a 19-18 lead. The Flyers tied the game in the bottom of the sixth before allowing La Chai a run in the top of the seventh. With their backs against the wall, the Freedom Air Flyers scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to win the game.

The shortest game of the night lasted just five innings, as Island Mix brought their “A” game to Bring It On in a 14-4 mercy rule affair.
After two innings the score was tied at a pair apiece, but the Mix started scoring and the notorious B.I.O couldn’t keep up.
Tony Luzama went 3-for-3 for the Mix with a pair of dingers and a single for five RBI’s. Landon Martin went 2-for-3 with two round-trippers, while Pepi Tenorio had an inside the park homerun.
