Louie Bautista was hailed as PSS’ overall administrative staff for 2012, while Delfin Lobao emerged as the trade maintenance of the year awardee.

The two accepted their plaques of recognition in a ceremony in front of members of the Education Board, led by chair Marylou S. Ada, the PSS leadership team, and school principals.

Bautista joined the Kagman Elementary School family in January 2005 as a school aide, a position that covers multiple tasks. In his eight years in service, the school’s jack-of-all-trades has been recognized four times as its support staff of the year.

He expressed surprised yesterday upon learning of this latest recognition, saying this was his first time to actually bag the overall title.

Bautista believes that the deep commitment, dedication, and the quality of service he renders students set him apart. He gave thanks to his colleagues, the Education Board, Education Commissioner Rita A. Sablan, and his principal, Ignacia Demapan, who was also present in yesterday’s ceremony.

William S. Reyes Elementary School’s Delfin Lobao emerged as this year’s trade maintenance of the year awardee. He is the school’s custodian for 20 years now since 1992. He has previously been honored four times as the school’s support staff of the year. The 66-year-old awardee said this is his first time to receive the overall award.

WSR principal Naomi Nishimura had nothing but good words for Lobao, whom she described as among the real backbones of the school. Nishimura said that Lobao is a great inspiration and truly deserving of the honor for devoting so much time and energy to the school.

Commissioner Sablan said that PSS continues to recognize not only its students but also its staffers in various positions. Yesterday’s awarding rites is part of the celebration next week of the maintenance and administrative staff week at PSS.
