The CNMI’s Executive Branch and the Judiciary will come together today to sign a joint proclamation declaring next week as “Probation and Parole Officers Week.”

The proclamation-signing ceremony, to be held at 10am at the CNMI Supreme Court, will gather together the heads of the executive and judicial branches.

“The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is pleased to thank our probation and parole officers, and urges all citizens to pay special tribute to these men and women who serve so faithfully, often with little thanks or recognition,” reads part of the proclamation.

During the week of July 19-23, the people of the CNMI are encouraged to join in recognizing the work that probation and parole officers do for public safety.

“Probation and parole officers are a critical part of our public safety system. They are dedicated hardworking individuals who are truly concerned about making a difference in the community where they live. They work around the clock to help make the CNMI a safe place,” said a statement from the Probation Office.

Activities and exhibitions have been organized to pay tribute to the probation and parole officers of the community. A Mass will be held Saturday, July 17, at the San Roque Church.

During the week of July 19-23, there will be an Open House at the House of Justice in Susupe. Exhibits from Probation, Parole and other agencies will be on display in the atrium. All people are invited to come and look at the exhibits and take part in the activities. (PR)
