Softball league openers pushed back
Softball heroes of the CNMI still have a couple of weeks to get their teams together because the commencement of the upcoming seasons for the 2004 Men’s Island Wide Slow Pitch Softball League, the 2004 Men’s Island Wide Fast Pitch Softball League, and the 2004 Women’s Island Wide Slow Pitch Softball League will all be put on hold for just a while longer.
According to Saipan Softball Association president Robert A. Guerrero, all three of the leagues will get underway on Monday, July 19, at the Oleai Sports Complex.
Until then, those who wish to enter a team in the leagues for the season still have a chance to be a part of the action. To get into the league a team must submit the $800 entrance fee, membership dues, a waiver and the team roster.
Guerrero added that the schedules for the trio of the leagues will be completed with in the next couple of weeks to allow for the addition of anyone who is still interested. For those that are still on the fence, the time to act is now as the number of teams is limited and there are only a few remaining slots to be filled.
“Right now we are looking at about 14 to 15 teams and we will still accept any that would like to join the league, but we do not want to go over 18 to 20 teams.”
