Dig out your helmet, tie up the spikes and grab the pads because the Verizon Islanders of the Commonwealth Football League want you!

The team that wants to be known for their offensive and defensive lines rather than their phone lines is holding practices every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at the airport football field beginning at 5:30pm.

If you want to play football, this is your chance to get on a team. Team representative Gus Romolor is inviting anyone that is interested to practice with the team. He wants his team to be prepared this year and to him, there’s no time like the present.

“The earlier the better. We are hoping for the best this year. Our goal is to go out there and finish at the top. We’ve been in the league for three years now and we have the people that can do it,” said Romolor.

If you play for the Islanders or want to play for them, look for Romolor on the field as soon as tomorrow.
