On poem about dad
The poem and article by Cassie DLG. Fejeran last Sunday was very touching. It shows the use of the thought process that went into the final piece. The question she asked, “Where would I be now if my father is here with me?” has frequented my mind for over 50 years.
My father died six days before I was five and, yes, there’s the lingering question of the “what might have been” if he were here today. There’s also my stepfather who brought us up through “thick and thin” to which I am profoundly grateful. He was a great patriarch considering what he had to work with.
You have done exceedingly well, Cassie, for all that you had to endure since Day 1. It reflects sheer determination to move past mind-numbing challenges most youngsters will never experience in a lifetime. Indeed, you’ve certainly earned your dues. That we had to walk through the deep valley of life will make us better people as we meet new challenges.
Move on in search of the truth and guidance from Divine Providence and si yuus ma’ase for a well-written and very moving article and poem.
