Our strongest desire

I feel so sad and discouraged when ex-congressman William Torres did not make it for another term at the Legislature. I did admire his strong desire and efforts to upgrade the life of the youths at the Upper Housing in Garapan. I admired his vision that he can help these young people be more productive citizens of the CNMI, away from attitude problems, vices and drugs.

I regret that due to the end of his term, his projects for the youth might not be completed anymore, particularly his unfinished project of developing the skills of the youth in fabricating ornamentals, concrete flower pots and balustrades, swan and duck making and many more that could have helped them make a small livelihood that will help improve their family income and their lives as well.

I want to thank God for Mr. Torres, particularly for his vision and desire to give the youth a good future. For future really lies in the hands of the youth of today. I admire and salute him for he is a man of action.

I hope that those respected officials at the Legislature today will see and help to achieve the above goals for the youth, the future leaders of the CNMI.

May God bless the CNMI.
