Council lauds Pacific Trading Co.

The 8th Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council has recently adopted a resolution commending Pacific Trading Co. under the leadership of general manager Charles V. Cepeda for promoting and contributing to the development and growth of the CNMI’s recreational, educational, religious, and community activities.

The council said that PTC under Cepeda’s leadership has been and continues to be instrumental in promoting and sponsoring major events in the CNMI.

Among the activities that PTC has supported were the first Motocross Race at Cowtown, Marpi, Saipan; the Rota 2003 San Francisco De Borja Fiesta Motocross Race; the Tinian San Jose 2003 Fiesta Motocross; the Saipan Miller Lite Invitational 8-Ball Tournament; Little League Baseball; Commonwealth Football League; Saipan Major League; DD Program; Red Cross; Philippine Independence Day; Saipan’s July Fourth celebration; Chinese New Year; volleyball tournament (Marianas Cup); golf tournaments (Rotary, HANMI and Tournament of Champions); and many other events.

“Pacific Trading Company’s generous monetary and in-kind contributions are indicative of strong leadership and commitment to the development and growth of the CNMI and its people,” the resolution said.

It also lauded PTC officials, saying the company’s superb accomplishments could not have been made possible without the approval of its prominent officers and directors. These include Edward M. Calvo, chairman of the board and president: John T. Calvo, vice president; Leonard P. Calvo, treasurer; Eduardo A. Calvo, secretary; Joseph G. Calvo and Carmen T. Calvo.

“The members of the Municipal Council join the people of the CNMI in extending special recognition, congratulation and commendation to the owners of Pacific Trading Company and its continued success in the CNMI,” it said.

The resolution was certified by municipal council chair Gregorio V. Deleon Guerrero and vice chair David A. Indalecio and attested by secretary Antonia M. Tudela.
