(Walter Cepeda Sutherland) The Kagman High School Lady Ayuyus notched their second win of the season, 15-6, over the Marianas High School Lady Dolphins in Wednesday’s Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization girls fast-pitch softball game at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.

KHS broke a 2-all deadlock from the opening frame with two runs in the second inning. Janica Lizama ripped an RBI single and worked her way around to score.

MHS’ Maryann Waing made it on base and stole home to get a run back in the bottom frame, but KHS tacked up five more runs off five hits in the top of the third inning.

Zerah Castro belted an RBI double and later stole the dish. Andrea Camacho, Jenni Dela Cruz, and another Lady Ayuyu also stole home and Lizama bagged another RBI single in the uprising.

KHS pitcher Castro went right at the top of the Lady Dolphins’ order and held MHS to just one run in the bottom frame. Shanna Flores hammered a base hit and later stole home.

Then with patience at the plate, the Lady Ayuyus piled on six more runs.

April Welson, Lizama, and Tracy Pelep all recorded hits to go with four walks.

Due to time and light constraints, umpires declared the bottom of the fourth as the Lady Dolphins’ last chance to pull out a comeback.

MHS cranked out four hits to start the frame, but managed only two runs before KHS’ Castro regrouped to secure the match.

KHS’ Lizama batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs. Castro swung 2-for-2 with an RBI, three runs, and a base on balls.

The season continues at the Tan Ge Field at 4pm on Monday with the Lady Knights of Mount Carmel School debuting against the defending champion Saipan Southern High School Lady Manta Rays (0-1).
