Obyan lot cleanup

This month DEQ cleanup brigade will be at it again, picking up trash at Obyan Beach. The group will be meeting at the Obyan Parking Lot. Anyone who would like to volunteer their time to clean up and beautify the island can meet the DEQ representative in the bright green t-shirt on Saturday, June 5, at 8am.

“Come join us and “Pick It Up! The brigade cleans until 10:00 and then breaks for drinks, then continues if needed,” the agency said in a statement

This month, outstanding brigade members who have participated in at least 10 monthly cleanups will receive a brigade cap and those who have participated at least three times will receive a bright green brigade shirt.

“This is a clean up that shouldn’t be missed. So join DEQ’s clean-up brigade and pick it up!”
