13 pupils graduate from SDA
Thirteen kindergarten students graduated Tuesday night from the Seven Day Adventist School, with the students tagging along their parents and relatives. Several teachers were also on hand to welcome the guests to the ceremony.
As the pupils stood by in their green cap and gowns, Miss Heidi opened the floor with SDA student Trevor Moors leading the opening prayer.
The short ceremony then segued to the pupils singing their hearts out to their parents with the song Happy, Happy Home, with teacher Heidi leading them. Following the ceremonial song, parents went forward and were presented gifts by the graduating students, comprising their own drawings and writings.
To show their appreciation to their fellow students, the graduating class sang A Friend like You.
Before the presentation of diplomas, Miss Heidi shared with the pupils her appreciation for their contributions to the class. Brian Moses was thanked for his smiles and the hugs he had shared with the class throughout the year.
Mrs. Maycock then led off the presentation of diplomas to the students. She also welcomed them to 1st grade, where she will be teaching them more on how to read. Maycock also thanked the parents. “I want to say thank you for choosing the SDA School and to you graduates, congratulations…I’m so proud of you all,” said Maycock.
The graduates then stood for the last time and recited a verse from the Bible.
Shy yet excited to go home and celebrate, graduate Sally Kim stood center stage to lead the closing prayer.
