Scholarship for govt employees open

The Northern Marianas College said it is now accepting applicants for the Government Employees Professional Development Assistance Program.

This program aims to assist all government employees with their education and training needs by providing a 50-percent discount in tuition rate to all qualified candidates.

To qualify:

* All candidates must be employees of the CNMI government.

* All candidates must who proof of ineligibility to receive CNMI Scholarship Grant and Federal Financial Assistance.

* Program benefits are applicable to regular NMC courses only.

* Benefits do not apply to Community Programs’ courses and Outreach Programs.

* Program benefits are based on space that is available on the last day of Add and Drop.

To register, all candidates must be admitted to NMC. Upon submission of an admissions application and fees, an acceptance letter will be issued. All candidates must apply for financial aid and be declared ineligible. All degree-seeking candidates must take the required Placement Tests and meet with an advisor prior to registering. All GEPDAP candidates must register by seeing an advisor or OAR staff.

Candidates must pay for all applicable institutional and course fees. All payments must be made in accordance with the college office policies.
