106th RP Independence golf tourney set
The Fil-Taga Golfers Association will host the Philippine Independence Day Golf Tournament on June 13 at the Coral Ocean Point Resort golf course.
The tournament marks the 106th anniversary of the Philippine Declaration of Independence from Spain, which occurred on June 12, 1896.
Fil-Taga will award $300 and a trophy to the champion, $200 and a trophy to the runner-up, and $100 and a trophy to third place.
Aside from the cash incentives for the top three finishers, Mobil Oil Marianas has also put up a $25,000 hole-in-one prize on hole No. 12. Other prizes up for grabs are the nearest-to-the pin contest as well as various cash and in-kind prizes at the raffle.
It also said net play would be the format used for the whole tournament and shotgun tee-off starting at No. 1 through No. 9 holes starts at exactly 12pm. The Callaway system will be automatically applied to a player without a verified handicap.
Tournament fee is $100, which is inclusive of green fee and invitation to a dinner banquet at the COP poolside on the evening.
Showtime for the Philippine Independence Day Golf Tournament is scheduled at 10:30am.
Deadline for submission of entries is on June 10. Payment should be coursed through Express Tour & Travel Agency, located at the Paradise Hotel, 1st floor, Middle Road, in front of Commonwealth Health Center in Garapan, or call 233-9775.
