The 22nd Annual CNMI May Masters Tournament kicks off tomorrow, at the Saipan Bowling Center in San Jose.

Made up of singles, doubles, and team events, the biggest tenpin bowling tournament of the year will run through Memorial Day weekend and winds down with an awards banquet at the Dai-Ichi Hotel Saipan Beach on Sunday, May 30, at 6pm.

The 12-game masters event for women will start on Saturday, May 29, at 6pm, while the 16-game men masters roll out on Sunday, May 30, beginning at 9am.

To qualify for the masters event, a bowler needs to compete in the singles, doubles, and team events and must be among the top 36 bowlers among the men and top 24 among the women based on total pinfalls.

Trophies and cash awards totaling over $6,000 await the winners of the year’s most competitive bowling tournament. The men and women masters champions are guaranteed $1,000 and $300, respectively, in cash prizes.

The yearly May Masters tournament is organized by the Saipan Bowling Association and is sponsored by MARPAC, exclusive distributor of Budweiser; JET Holdings; Saipan Bowling Center; Micronesian Brokers, Inc.; Marianas Visitors Authority; SBA president Jerry Tan; Dai-Ichi Saipan Beach Hotel; and AON Insurance.
