Another purse snatching incident was reported on Sunday after an unidentified male robbed a 41-year-old female in Garapan.

Police report showed the victim, Jing You Juan, and a companion were walking east by the YCO Hardware. As they reached the corner of the intersection, which was poorly lighted, the suspect suddenly grabbed the victim’s purse and pulled it, causing the victim to fall.

The suspect then took off toward the Garapan Market. He then headed south on the intersection by YCO ServiStar.

Police received a call reporting the incident at about 9pm. Patrol officer Glenn Rabago was sent to the scene.

According to DPS public information officer Thomas A. Blas Jr., the victim, who sustained minor scratches and bruises from the fall, refused medical attention.

The contents of the purse included a cell phone, an ATM card, keys, and personal documents.

Blas urges anyone with information about the crime to call the NMI Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
