To support the Division of Environmental Quality and Mariana Islands Nature Alliance’s advocacy of creating community awareness of “Recycle, Re-Use, and Reduce (The 3Rs),” the Saipan Grand Hotel will host a fashion show on April 14, 2012, at 6:30pm at its lobby.

Aptly called “Trashion,” the event has an added twist of models donning wearable pieces from an amazing array of non-clothing recycled items that would otherwise find their way to the dump.

This is where art, creativity, imagination, and sustainability meet in honor of Earth Day and Environmental Month.

An annual tradition spearheaded by DEQ and participated in by designers and modeled by high school students, the event has generated community involvement as well. From the materials to be used to the skillfulness of the designs, all chipped in to create wearable works of art.
The show is open to the public.

This also coincides with the hotel’s weekly food fair. (PR)
