MMAC Team Bodig to host fundraisers

Team Bodig, one of the teams for the 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer, has lined up two events in support as part of its efforts to raise more funds for the upcoming biggest annual cancer event.
“Thirsty Thursday” is slated for Thursday, April 12 at Naked Fish Bar & Grill on Beach Road in Garapan starting at 5pm.
A $10 entrance fee entitles one to a free drink and live entertainment by popular local artist Marvin Guerrero.
“All funds raised at this Thirsty Thursday event will go toward the Marianas March Against Cancer so we encourage the entire community to come out and support Team Bodig’s efforts in the fight against cancer,” said Catherine Attao-Toves, 2012 MMAC overall committee chair.
To purchase tickets for Thirsty Thursday, call Jocelyn Deleon Guerrero at 287-3655 or Bridgette M. Camacho at 287-6772.
On April 20, Team Bodig is scheduled to host a coin drive at the Microl Toyota traffic light intersection in San Jose at 6pm.
Attao-Toves urged the public driving by the area to donate whatever funds they can, which will also go toward MMAC.
“We applaud Team Bodig’s untiring efforts in the battle against cancer,” she added.
MMAC is a 12-hour overnight event that features teams under different categories (Pulan, Napu, Atdao, and Pution) competing for various prizes including most money raised, most laps, best baton, best tent, most luminaries sold, and most team spirit on April 27 to 28 from 6pm to 6am at the Hopwood Jr. High School Field in Chalan Piao.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of MMAC, the largest annual signature fundraising event of Commonwealth Cancer Association, a volunteer-led non-profit organization that advocates for cancer victims.
