A staff at the Commonwealth Ports Police who was arrested in September for allegedly beating up his girlfriend at her house on Navy Hill pleaded guilty yesterday to disturbing the peace as part of a plea deal.

Superior Court associate judge Kenneth L. Govendo sentenced Peter Eugene Borja to six months behind bars, all suspended except for three days, with credit for the two days he had already served in jail. Borja was directed to serve the remaining day of his sentence on Dec. 17.

Upon release, he will be placed on a six-month probation, required to perform 100 hours of community service, and pay a $100 fine and $25 court costs. He was also directed to pay restitution to the victim.

Police had arrested the 36-year-old Borja for assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and criminal mischief.

The victim complained of pain in the middle of her back and neck.
