Islander Tag Team 8-Ball League starts Jan. 21

The 19th Hole Bar is holding the 2012 Islander Tag Team 8-Ball Billiard League tentatively running from Jan. 21 to Feb. 11 at its new location in Puerto Rico, north of Grand Market on Middle Road.

The event is formatted as a best-of-three game series with two-person teams. Must be at least 21 to enter. Each player will compete in a singles match coupled with a doubles game. Two pairings will be played on Saturday and Sunday evenings starting at 7:30pm.

The tournament is not open to the advanced-level players in the Saipan Billiards Association’s Agingan division.

There is a $20 entrance fee per team and registration deadline is Jan. 16. The event is open to the first eight teams that sign up.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 finishers based on a predetermined point system.

The 19th Hole Bar recently received a special plaque of appreciation from the SBA during the 2011 Summer/Fall Budweiser Open 8-Ball League awards banquet last Sunday.

Formerly known as the USS Peleliu Club, the 19th Hole Bar relocated last fall. It offer darts, billiards, and music entertainment in a refreshing sports bar setting.
