How seniors can protect themselves from financial abuse
HAGATNA, Guam-Bank of Hawaii is introducing a new topic to its lineup of free Smart Money Seminars. Called “B-SAFE: Senior Awareness of Financial Exploitation,” seminars will be held on April 18 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Bank of Hawaii’s Garapan branch on Saipan, at the Koror branch in Palau, and from 5pm to 6pm at the Centennial Branch in American Samoa.
In this seminar, participants will learn about senior financial abuse and how to protect themselves and their loved ones from becoming victimized. Millions of people fall victim to fraud each year, and fraudulent activity comes in all shapes and sizes. That is why it is critical for seniors to be educated on the different types of scams.
Seminars will also be held in Guam at various Senior Citizen Centers throughout the island.
The seminars are free to the public-customers and non-customer-and are led by financial experts from Bank of Hawaii. No products or services will be sold at the seminars, and no promotional materials will be distributed.
