An unidentified person broke into a house in Upper Dandan and sexually assaulted two girls last Friday, according to the NMI Crime Stoppers Program yesterday.

Police officer Jason Tarkong, who is also the Crime Stoppers coordinator, said that they are seeking the community’s help for information about the suspect.

The suspect was described as possibly a local male, about 5’5” tall, with very short hair and slim body.

Tarkong said that one of the girls’ father woke up at about 4am on Friday, March 30, to the screams of his daughter and her friend coming from their bedroom. The father ran to the bedroom where he found the girls crouched in a corner.

Police investigation showed that as the girls were asleep when they felt someone touching them improperly. One of the girls screamed, prompting the suspect to run out the door and house.

The father checked the house and discovered that the suspect’s point of entry was through a window, where the screen had been cut open.

“It was dark in the bedroom and the girls described the suspect’s face as covered with a piece of cloth,” Tarkong said.
