Five NMI students win bank’s photo contest

(BANK OF GUAM) Five students from the Commonwealth-four from Marianas High School on Saipan and one from the Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Jr/Sr High  School on Rota, were named among the winners of the Bank of Guam’s 2012 calendar photography contest.

In a statement issued yesterday, the bank said that Irvin C. Taimanao, a ninth-grader at Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Jr/Sr High School; Riya Nathrani, a twelfth-grader at Marianas High School; Cecily Manahane, also a twelfth-grader at MHS; Lou Gascon, a ninth-grader at MHS; and Gemma Noelani Somol, a tenth-grader at MHS, were among the winners of its 8th Annual Photo Contest.

The other winners are: Alana Chargualaf, George Washington High School, 12th Grade; Kent Velusrubio, St. John’s School, 9th Grade; Marrahia Muna, George Washington High School, 12th Grade; Jamaica Legaspi, George Washington High School, 12th Grade; Anthony G. Tornito, Okkodo High School, 12th Grade; and Kazzandra L. Ruaro, George Washington High School, 12th Grade.

Cash prizes of $175 were awarded for each photo. The winning photos are now on display at the Bank of Guam’s website: www.bankofguam.com. (BOG)
