The Saipan Electronic Dart Association’s Ladies Division, Master’s, and B-Flame Tree frontrunners are still in contention for the coveted Bud Cup trophy, while B-Fanihi’s top seed Echoserong Kamote’s stumbled in this week’s opening round.
Ladies Division’s Try Luck of D’Pirates Bar, Master Division’s IT&E Kamote’s of Es’y Kitchen, and B-Flame Tree’s Gaiana-B of Bar Gaia all advanced to the semifinal round, while B-Fanihi’s Echoserong Kamote’s of Naked Fish Bar & Grill fell victim to an upset by second-ranked SOS Akiramenai, 6-9, in their road match held at Es’y Kitchen Thursday night.
B-Fanihi’s SOS will be paired against Gaia’s World B, which dropped VFW Post 3457’s Dutty Gunz, 8-6 on the road on Thursday.
The other semifinalists feature Es’y’s Kitchenshooters against Oh Yeah!.
The Kitchenshooters upset No Fear, 8-4 at home, while Oh Yeah! went into Jonny’s Bar & Grill and bested Sekid, 8-5, to advance through the first round.
At Jonny’s on Monday, top-ranked Try Luck pounced on runner-up Man-Amigas, 8-2, winning via concession after 10 games to advance to the second round.
Jonny’s Island Girls made it past Joe’s Steakhouse’s Just Like That, 8-6, at home and will try its luck against the frontrunner in a home draw on Monday.
Monday’s winner will challenge the winner between D’Pirates’ Star Magic and Joe’s Daffodils in the finals on Dec. 12.
In the Master Division, IT&E Kamote’s clinched a semifinals berth, 9-4, in a road draw over runner-up and sister team SOS Jokers last Monday.
IT&E will take on D-Pirates’ M-Destroyers, which knocked out its sister team D’Companeros, 9-1, in a road draw.
These two contenders will square off next Monday with the victor facing the winner between Jonny’s Azkals and the Snipers.
In Thursday’s Flame Tree round, Gaiana-B took down second-ranked Sabalu Boys, 8-5, at D’Pirates and will face Joe’s TBA Oneshot in the semifinals.
TBA Oneshot edged out Chagi Sang, 8-7, on the road at D’Pirates.
Naked Fish’s Na’Gupu and Joe’s Skoregazzzums make up the other semifinal pairing.
Na’Gupu squeaked past D’Pirates Lucky Shot, 8-7, on the road, while the Skoregazzzums routed Why Not, 8-3, in a road draw held at its home bar.
