All-Schools Cross Country championships this Saturday

Northern Marianas Athletics’ All-Schools Cross Country Championships us set for Saturday morning at the American Memorial Park.
Registration starts at 8:30am and the races begin at 9am.
So far Marianas High School, Saipan Community School, and Hopwood Junior High School have consistently turned in strong showings in the first three legs of the series.
In last year’s finale, held at CPA Field, HJHS’ Reanita Kaipat, Rumina Litulumar, and Jaylina Borja swept the podium in the U12 girls division, while teammates Bryan Floresca and Mikayla Lopez took top prize in the U14 boys and girls groups.
In a collective effort, SCS won first place in the U12 boys field, despite a first place finish by HJHS’ Berneil Taisacan.
SCS’ Haruya Eda, Noel Lim, and Yun Pyo swept the U10 boys podium, while Garapan Elementary School’s Joshalyn Flores skipped away with U10 girls trophy.
The U12 and U10 groups ran one-mile courses.
MHS dominated the field last year as Michael Mancao, Danny Bai, and Beouch Ngirchongor swept the U18 boys board.
MHS’ Reylynn Sapong and Chris Obaldo finished first and second ahead of HJHS’ Corina Suda in the U18 girls finals.
Competitors in the high school division ran a two-mile course.
