Shirley’s remains perfect in girls U15 league

Monroyo)  Shirley’s Football Club kept its perfect record in the girls U15 division of the 2012 NMIFA Youth Spring League after edging Matansa FC, 2-1, in last Saturday’s game at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.

Alexa Vergara and Marielle Garigues scored one goal each for Shirley’s to give their team a 3-0 record and hand Matansa its second straight loss.

Neither team found the back of the net in the first half before Vergara lit up the scoreboard for the first time, two minutes into the second half. Patricia Santiago answered for Matansa with her goal in the 59th minute to force a tie, which was broken 10 minutes off Gariguez’s goal.

Paire 3, Tan Holdings 0

In the other girls U15 game at the Hopwood pitch, Paire shut out Tan Holdings FC.

It was Paire’s first win in three games. Three different players scored for Paire with Kayleen Salle and Mikaela Duenas hitting one goal apiece in the first half and Adela Saralu nailing one in the second.

BOYS U15

MPU Silver 9, Paire 1

In the battle of unbeaten teams at the CPA Field, MP United Silver routed Paire.

John Taisacan led MP United’s easy win, as he drained five goals. Jehn Joyner added two, Dakota Hall chipped in one, and the other goal came off a Paire miscue.

Paire was also credited with an own goal off MP United Silver’s mistake. MP United Silver improved to a 4-0-0 win-draw-loss record, while Paire fell to a 3-0-1 card.

Matansa 7, Tan Holdings FC 1

Matansa also recorded a dominating victory over Tan Holdings FC.

Sean Perez paced Matansa with his twin goals, while James Ermitanio, Evans Belcher, Ryu Tanzawa, Jeong Wook Hwang, and Zon Alamer contributed one goal each in the team’s second win

Shirley’s 3, MPU Blue 1

Shirley’s broke into the win column after a 0-3 start, following a victory over MP United Blue.

Yoncil Maniacop, Jonathan Jonah, and Atiron Norita logged one goal each to snap Shirley’s losing skid. MP United Blue, which is still winless in three games, drew its lone goal from David Yang.

BOYS U18

Tan Holdings 1, Paire 0

Tan Holdings pulled off an upset over Paire to gain its first win in four games.
Tanapon Unsan scored Tan Holding’s only goal to hand Paire its second defeat.

MP United 11, Matansa 0

In the other boys U18 match at the CPA pitch, Joyner and Nam Ki Kim had a hat-trick to power MP United to a shutout win over Matansa.

Chris Camacho added two goals, while Seong Joon Lee and Frank Jeon scored one each in MP United’s demolition of Matansa.

MP United now has a 4-0-0 record, while Matansa is still winless in four matches.
