The medical mission hosted by the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ 4th Watch in Dandan on March 18 had a “greater” turnout compared to the crowd during last month’s event.

Pastor Claire Javillonar said they served a total of 94 individuals, 21 of whom were locals. Majority of those who availed of the free services during the medical mission held at the Hi-Mart store parking lot were Filipinos, she added.

“Surprisingly, this is our operation where we had a lot of locals who joined,” said Javillonar. “They read the announcements that we published in the newspapers. Usually, it’s Filipinos who avail of our free services.”

The services provided at the event were blood sugar and blood pressure screenings, eye checkup, facial and body massage, haircut, and spiritual counseling.

Among their volunteers were four nursing graduates of Loyola University, a nurse from the Commonwealth Health Center, Rhea of Tropical Blend Spa and Salon, and their church members.

“Thank you to all Dandan Village residents for their warm welcome and participation and for appreciating our endeavor, especially to the owner of Hi-Mart store,” said Javillonar.

Javillonar disclosed that their next venue for the village-to-village medical mission is either As Lito or Susupe.

“We’re trying to visit those villages that we haven’t visited yet,” she added.
