SHRM meeting on 2012 updates to the Family Medical Leave Act

The Society for Human Resource Management CNMI Chapter will be taking up the “Family Medical Leave Act 2012 Updates” at its March general membership meeting with guest speaker Patrick Candoleta, assistant district director for Guam & Northern Marianas, U.S. Department of Labor.
The lunch meeting will be held at Saipan World Resort (Tapochau Room) on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from 12pm to 1:30pm (doors will open at 11:30am). This presentation is open to the public and will be an invaluable opportunity for employers and employees to learn the latest information on FMLA and how it impacts the workplace
Candoleta will present on important topics such as:
1) Extending exigency leave to family members of the Regular Armed Forces.
2) Allowing additional days for employee during a military family member’s “rest and recuperation” period.
3) Review of Form WH-381which covers the Notice of Eligibility and Rights & Responsibilities for FMLA.
