Juveniles suspected of burglary

A group of juveniles are suspects to yet another break in on government-owned property, less than a week after the Department of Labor and Immigration office was robbed, police said.

According to reports, one classroom at Koblerville Elementary School was burglarized by a couple of 13- and 11-year-olds.

Complainants did not indicate what were stolen inside the premises.

The three young boys were, however, caught by authorities and were transported to the juvenile section and the Criminal Investigation Bureau for questioning.

Man assaults children with stick

Three children from Garapan arrived home Friday evening in tears after a neighbor reportedly beat them with a wooden stick inside the upper MIHA housing village.

According to police reports, the kids were heading home from a nearby store when a man appeared before them from inside his house and began hitting each of them on different parts of the body.

In an interview with police, the children stated one of them was hurt on the elbow, one on the buttocks, and one on the knees.

When the juveniles returned home that evening, they immediately told their parents about the incident.

From there, parents sought police assistance. Police were told it was not the first time the man had hurt their kids.

Crime scene technicians were summoned to the scene to take photos of the children who sustained bruises on their bodies.

The suspect has yet be confirmed and arrested.

Tourist in rage

For unknown reasons, a Japanese tourist went berserk inside a restaurant at Hotel Nikko over the weekend, damaging hotel property and creating disturbance that turned other diners away from the establishment.

Police information officer Cecil Celes reported yesterday the YoiChiro Otsuka was behaving in a belligerent and combative manner which started the time when he and his wife were about to pay the bill for the meal they had consumed that night.

According to reports, for some reason, the 41-year-old male tourist got angry and slammed a chair on the floor. Hotel attendants also accounted two restaurant chairs, one thermostat control, and a white telephone damaged as a result of Mr. Otsuka’s rage.

The suspect also allegedly confronted the restaurant cashier who held his credit card billing and threw the paper and pen right at her.

When police arrived on the scene, they tried but failed to restrain the drunk suspect to yield to authorities.

Another set of police officers were summoned for assistance. It took authorities a good 15 minutes to calm the suspect down.

When he was successfully restrained, police transported him to the corrections facility for charges of disturbing the peace, criminal mischief, assault and battery, and resisting arrest.
