Century to sponsor Tennis Classic

One of Saipan1s largest tennis events of the year, Century Insurance will sponsor the “Century Insurance Tennis Classic” organized by the Fil American Tennis Association (FILATA) this month. The event is expected to draw approximately 150 participants and will be held over two consecutive weekends beginning Thursday, February 22 at Coral Ocean Point and the American Memorial Park tennis courts.
For the past seven years, the event has been sponsored by Tan Holdings Corporation. Affiliate company Century Insurance decided to take over the sponsorship this year.
“This is the first time for Century to sponsor a sporting event of this magnitude and we1re all very excited about this activity, which is part of our corporate community involvement program,” said General Manager Andy Del Mundo. “Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to charity.”
The Century Insurance Tennis Classic will include competitions for singles, doubles, male and female singles for a total of 14 events. As part of the tournament, there will be both night and day games on weekdays and weekends, respectively. The awards ceremony with announcement of the winners will be on Sunday, March 4.
Entry forms are available at Century Insurance1s office on Beach Road, Garapan, as well as at Las Vegas Golf & Tennis, the American Memorial Park Tennis Court and Coral Ocean Point Resort. The deadline for doubles entries is February 17 and February 24 for doubles.
