Suspected burglars arrested

Police arrested Monday three men suspected to be behind three separate incidents of burglary at the Northern Marianas College, William S. Reyes Elementary School, and Marianas Resort Hotel.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Cecil Seles identified the alleged burglars as Patrick James Mansfield, 19, Mark Tababa Tesero, 21, and Peter Floresca Tababa, 20.

The suspects are all employed as security guards at the Secure West Security Agency. Police reports claimed all three crimes occurred at the time when the three young men were on duty.

Mr. Tababa was released yesterday to a third party custodian while the two others are set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing next week.

Man nabbed for stabbing incident

A 20-year-old Chamorro man has been taken into police custody for the stabbing of a Chinese national last Sunday at the Afetnas area.

The suspect, Cheyenne Peter Sablan, was turned in by his girlfriend. He has been arrested for charges of assault and battery and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to police reports, the suspect and his girlfriend were walking down Afetnas road when they started having an argument.

In the heat of the moment, Mr. Sablan inflicted pain on the next person he could get his hands on, who unfortunately, happened to be the victim, Zu Di Chen, who passed by the couple riding his bike.

The 39-year-old Chinese male was sent to the Commonwealth Health Center Intensive Care Unit for treatment, after sustaining a severe puncture to his right lung.

It was not indicated how many stab wounds the victim obtained from the suspect, who is believed to have used a blunt dangerous weapon.
