The team discussed probable measures on how to revise the CNMI Standards for Mathematics and Social Studies which was first drafted in May 1997.

After more than four years, the PSS saw the need to improve the materials to help the students cope with change.

According to Acting Associate Commissioner for Secondary Education Rita A. Sablan, the staff development program is part of the PSS’ effort to advance the skills of their educators and meet the standards currently employed by various education system worldwide.

Aside from the Mathematics and Social Studies workshop, different teams were dispatched at the Marianas High School to hold another session on staff development in areas of English, Arts, Science among others.

The acting commissioner also explained that the PSS has lined up several other workshops for this year, not only to boost the advancement of the public school teachers but also to improve the education system.
