Santa Remedios fundraiser golf on March 24
Reporter
The Sister Remedios Parish Pastoral Council is planning a fundraiser golf tournament on March 24 at the Marianas Country Club.
Proceeds from the event will go toward some important renovations and maintenance repairs to the church, which is located in Tanapag.
The venue has not yet been determined, however the council is requesting local golf organizations to please mark their calendars and reserve the weekend for the cause.
All local golfers are invited to and come out and help support the church.
The entrance fee to participate is $100 per person and $90 for early birds that register at least a week in advance (March 17). Show time is set for 6:30am with a 7am tee off. The package includes admittance to the awards banquet held immediately after the event.
Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three place finishers and various other consolation prizes will also be raffles away throughout the day.
Some of the major improvements needed at the church include landscaping the surrounding area to create a more beautiful ambience, renovating the parking lot to increase the spaces available, renovating the front entrance to enable easy access for the hearst during funeral services, renovating the front walkway to integrate a portico structure to the church, and construction of a chapel in the Tanapag cemetery that provides shelter during outdoor services.
Sister Remedios in Tanapag did not hold a fundraiser tournament last year, but have done so in the past. This event marks its sixth or seventh fundraiser tourney in recent years.
