Tinian Mayor Ramon M. Dela Cruz has asked Gov. Benigno R. Fitial to give their island an incentive after coming in within their fiscal year 2011 budget.

“We never went over and beyond the budget that they gave us,” Dela Cruz said Friday.

Dela Cruz said the money they saved from 2011 should be carried over to the succeeding fiscal years.

According to Dela Cruz, the Tinian municipality already submitted their 2013 budget proposal to the governor’s office.

While he refused to disclose the proposed budget, Dela Cruz noted that proposed budget reflects a “very slight increase” compared to that of 2012, which was at $3 million according to Saipan Tribune files.

Dela Cruz said the increase is somewhere between 4 to 5 percent.
