BANMI welcomes newly elected Masters of Board
The Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands, through Commissioner Raymond B. Lizama, congratulates the new set of Master’s Central Board for the 2000 Master’s Basketball League.
The new members are Joe M. Pangelinan, president; Ray S. Basa, vice president; Abner Venus, secretary-treasurer; and its board of directors.
Lizama said BANMI is ready to work cooperatively to make necessary transition with the newly elected members to set and develop its objectives and action plan. Master’s president and board of directors are enthusiastic of their new role and are ready to bring its league to a new level and new image. The MBL adopted to mandate all participating teams to have the logo of BANMI and MBI on their uniforms.
The league is slated to begin on Aug. 17 at the Saipan Recreational facility at NMC. There are total of eight teams ready to claim the title for the 2000 Season Master’s Basketball League.
Defending champion GTE coached by Tony Sablan is ready to take the new challenge and defend its title. According to the league president, officials, elected leaders, MHS JROTC Color Guards, NMC president and CDA chair and BANMI Board of Governors will grace the ceremony to officially open the league.
Pangelinan is inviting the public to come and join in the celebration of the 2000 Master’s Basketball League.
