Racist remarks from former OIA misfit
In all my dealings with people–wealthy, rich, poor, successful or otherwise–I’ve given it my best effort to overcome my adolescent views of envy and bigotry. In my eyes, each is a human being whose wants and needs are the same whether he’s white, black, yellow, brown or red.
However the vicious agenda of Interior’s OIA to compromise the crown jewel of our aspirations–inherent in the Covenant Agreement–this setback didn’t sway nor derail my confidence and hope in all that our country stands for in its grand efforts to enhance and enrich the livelihood of all Americans under the umbrella of justice.
I’m rather wounded (as a US Citizen) to read documents where former OIA employee David North was discovered to have referred to Chamorros and Carolinians as incapable of helping themselves. It was a racist remarks at best, a condescending view from an apparent white supremacist gook or an imbecile or both.
Having visited more than 38 states across the country, I was rather pleasantly surprise of the sense of community of small towns who pitch-in, i.e., materials for a small library, dispensary, etc. The role of the federal government isn’t a mainstay. In fact, most don’t even know that there’s such departmental creature as Interior.
North capitalized–by using US mainland taxpayers money–to serve at the point man for US labor textile unions. The network he established and suggestions of anonymity, for fear of being identified as the source, all converged to ruin the last of two major economic sectors here.
It’s apparent that he and cabal, latter who’ve claimed ignorance, took advantage of the downturn of the local economy to ensure total financial meltdown.
But I know in my heart that even this racist agenda of economic annihilation–equivalence of the Nuremburg case–will some day fizzle as manifested in the recent Don Young hearings. North did a sterling job unjustifiably ruining these isles as a hybrid bigot.
How sad an episode in the developmental history of these isles. It did nothing but reduce a meaningful partnership into one of racism, distrust and bigotry. All these, while President Clinton trumpets knee-jerk conviction to ensure that the “economic good times didn’t leave anybody behind”. Well, it’s apparent we weren’t only left behind, but treated as enemies in some foreign land however under the Stars and Stripes Forever.
Be that as it may, what goes around comes around and I regret that in the very end, it is North and cabal who will find their failed ruinous and racist agenda a total nightmare. And for all their collective failed attempt to kill Juan so David, George and Allen could live, nothing is going to derail my efforts as a US Citizen to defend our rights and justice that are only rewarded to those who work and sacrifice for it.
Finally, how sad too that while OIA’s cabal of imbeciles are wary of their fiduciary duties to improve the quality of life for the inhabitants of these isles, it wasted millions of US mainland taxpayers money in illegal activities to stampede and crush the CNMI to death. What travesty! Grow up in that no matter the differences that exist today, we both are obligated to take the high road of reason to guide these isles “beyond the years”. Si Yuus Maase`!
