Chamber seeks to create Business Hall of Fame
The Saipan Chamber of Commerce is establishing a Business Hall of Fame as part of its year-long 40th Anniversary Celebration as a business organization serving businesses and the people of Saipan.
“In connection with our anniversary, we would like to honor those local companies which have served as role models in the community and have been operating here for 40 years or more. We are inspired by their success and can learn from those businesses which have grown with the community and endured the vast political, social and economic changes of the Commonwealth since 1960,” said Chamber president Lynn A. Knight.
According to the Chamber, a preliminary list of companies has been compiled and plans are underway to recognize the businesses at an upcoming Chamber meeting.
“It is important that we not miss any business in the community that fit our criteria of operating continuously on Saipan for 40 years or more,” said Chamber executive director Sue Singh. “If you have any information to share, please call the Saipan Chamber of Commerce at 233-7150 or e-mail the office at saipanchamber@saipan.com.”
The Chamber will hold its August general membership meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Giovanni’s Restaurant. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting will come to order at noon. Non-members may join the meeting for a cost of $15 per person.
For Chamber members, lunch is free.
