Welcome back, I hope your summer is going well.

Last week we talked about the RobotMower and how you can have your yard mowed while you do something else.

This week we will talk about a possible way for you to win a digital camera. You will be in control as to if you can win a digital camera, details in this weeks column. If we have space I will also continue on the Applescript intro. Those of you that are really interested in Applescript, I need to hear from you. Send email to ( bill@mespn.com ).

Remember, this article and all past articles are available online at: (http://www.mespn.com/techarticles ) as well as the online version of the Saipan Tribune, which you can access by clicking the banner on that same page.

** Digital cameras

It seems that digital cameras are all the rage these days. Why you ask? Just think of it , no more film to deal with, no more processing charges to pay, and no more waiting for your pictures to come back from the film processing company.

OK, so all that sounds great, but what about quality, ease of use, reliability, and capability? Digital cameras have all that and more. Did you know there are digital cameras that now rival their 35mm counterparts? its true, digital cameras have come of age. Soon there will be less and less film type cameras in use.

** How can I get one free

It seems that the digital camera is the way to go, but how can I win one?

I have come up with an idea that I hope will help promote Saipan as well as be fun and some one will be a lucky winner of a brand new digital camera.

** How will this work

I am looking for two things. People to take pictures of Saipan and the Northern Marianas and provide them to me royalty free to post on the web for all the world to see. Periodically the pictures will be judged by independent judges. The photo submitted for that period that is judged to be the best of the group will put the submitter into a drawing for a new free digital camera! Wouldn’t you like to win a free digital camera? This is open to all people, of all walks of life, whether professional or not. Remember all photos submitted will be royalty free and become the property of the website. Speaking of website, I have already registered a special domain name for this special website.

The second thing is, I am looking for sponsors. This is an inexpensive way to advertise on the worldwide web and help promote The Northern Marianas at the same time. The sponsor fees would be very nominal, but would provide great exposure for their business. All legal businesses are welcome.

** The website

The website is under construction now and will soon be available for all to see.
I see this as a way to promote the Northern Marianas to the world. If this is something you would be interested in, send email to ( photos@mespn.com ).
This means people interested in submitting
photos as well as sponsors.

** How to submit a photo

Photos may be submitted by sending email with attachment, mailed in as color or black and white prints, you can even send in color slides.

If you are ready now, just send email to: ( photos@mespn.com ) and I will send you all the particulars.

Lets help promote the Northern Marianas to the world. This promotion is not affiliated with any government agency and as such is not funded by such. I am open to work with such government agencies if they are interested.

Well, the word counter says we are all out of space.

See you here and on the web next week.
