Po, Sasaki rule RP Independence Day golf tournament

The June 18 RP Independence Day Golf Tournament organized by FILTAGA Golf Association was marked by a big turnout in both the member and guest divisions. It was held at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Course. Despite passing rain showers, 70 golfers endeavored to master par.
Trophies, cash prizes and gifts were presented to the winners at the awarding ceremony held at the Rey Lounge, Aqua Resort Club later in the evening.
In the guest division, the champion was Oliver Sasaki with a gross score of 80, net 67. Second place winner was Sen. Pete Reyes with a gross score of 80 and net 68. Third place went to Joe Miranda with a gross score of 86 and a net of 68. Low gross was a one under at 71 turned in by Joe ‘Kamikaze” Camacho.
In the member division, the overall champion was Manny Po with a gross of 92 net 69. Sandy Palon won the second place with a gross of 94, net 69. Third placer was Eli Buenaventura who held a gross of 78, net 71. He also won the low gross prize.
Aside from the prizes awarded to the winners of the tournament, raffle prizes donated by generous sponsors, benefactors, and supporters were given away to members and guests during the reception. No one was lucky enough to get the hole-in-one prize sponsored by GTE.
