NMC SBDC offers marketing seminar

Are you a small business owner or entrepreneur wondering how you can increase sales and expand your customer base? As of a series of Small Business Development Month training activities, the NMC Small Business Development Center is offering a free workshop entitled “Marketing Excellence: How to Multiply Your Profits and Have More Fun Growing Your Business.”

Dr. Rik Villegas, a business instructor at NMC, will be presenting a workshop which will provide participants with the examples, told, and techniques needed to produce a workable marketing plan. By utilizing a model called Acceptable Marketing Process, the participants will understand the eight-step process to turn their prospects and customers into advocates for their business who will then refer other individuals. Through instruction, class activities, and workbook completion, the participants will become knowledgeable about the strategies and tactics available in each of the eight steps, and how to develop and implement focused marketing plan.

“I will teach participants how to improve their business by educating them on strategies to increase: 1) the number of new customers who make purchases; 2) the amount of each individual transaction, and 3) the frequency of repeat purchases from existing customers,” Mr. Villegas said.

Other areas that will be covered in the workshop include the determination of a Unique Strategic Advantage for your business utilization of the Accelerated Marketing Process to optimize your marketing efforts and distribution of valuable handout call the “Savvy Marketers Checklist” which will help participants choose from hundreds of techniques and strategies in developing a marketing plan.

Mr. Villegas has a Master of Science Degree in Management and Human Relations from Abilene Christian University, a Master of Education Degree in Instructional Technology from Utah State University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education/Speech Communications from Utah State University.
