Disunity among our leaders
The power battle among our leaders is far from over. Leaders continue to disagree with each other and fail to address critical issues such as the Retirement Fund, CUC, the economy, and now they are facing another obstacle, the newly created Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. Had our leaders focused on the present problems of CUC, they should not have made CHC into another corporation because it will only add another financial burden. It will be better off to just retain the facility as the Commonwealth Health Center under the Executive Branch rather than through the hands of a CEO and advisory board. There is no logic to doing such a thing to our only health center, especially in the present financial crisis. The health center is a critical and important facility for our sick people. Our leaders should not play politics with it. In essence, there is no need to keep debating the financial needs of our health center. Our leaders should immediately work together and address those needs. The health and safety of our people as well as the education of our children have always been your priority ever since you were elected. You should deliver on those commitment and promises. Our ailing economy was one of your priorities as well.
The power in PSS facilities has been disconnected by CUC. This is a disgraceful situation and it should not happen to facilities that serve our children. The welfare and environment of our children should be uppermost in the minds of our leaders. Our leaders should assist PSS and prevent CUC from doing such a drastic thing. This goes as well for the health center where CUC should not disconnect power, as the facility is so critical to our patients. This will be a challenging year for our leaders as the people will closely evaluate and rate your performance for the past two years. Critical problems affecting our people in the CNMI will be the target issues to those seeking re-election and new aspirants as the year 2012 political battle begins. I wish our leaders good luck and may you all unite and work forward for the betterment of our people.
