The CNMI Department of Commerce yesterday announced that applications for the renewal of licenses to sell alcoholic beverages and tobacco products will be accepted on a daily basis beginning June 1, 2000.

Application forms may be obtained from the Alcohol Beverage and Tobacco Control Division office at the DOC Building in Capitol Hill while Tinian and Rota businesses can get forms from the resident department head at their respective commerce departments.

In a media statement, DOC said all licensees whose renewal fees remain unpaid after the expiration of the permit will automatically be suspended.

Any suspended licensee may be reinstated within three days by the Commerce Secretary provided the outstanding account is settled within 31 days from the date of expiration.

The commerce department will not issue a permit to licensees who failed to settle their outstanding balance within the one-month grace period unless they apply for a new license.

For inquiries, the public is advised to call the Alcohol Beverage and Tobacco Control Division at 664-3061 or 664-3065.
