The Northern Marianas College Board of Regents yesterday took a moment of silence to pray for Chair Ramon G. Villagomez whose condition has reportedly not improved since he slipped into comatose last week.

NMC President Jack Sablan told board members that although the retired Supreme Court Justice has been taken out of the Intensive Care Unit last Friday, his condition has not improved.

Mr. Villagomez is currently under the care of the Straub Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii.

“They [doctors] have already exhausted everything to help the board chair. He has not regained consciousness from his comatose state,” Mr. Sablan told the board of regents during a meeting yesterday.

As of press time, the former judge is confined in a private room at the hospital still in critical condition.

Mr. Sablan added doctors are now only awaiting the Villagomez family’s decision on the next course of action to take. (MM)
