Superior Court Associate Judge Timothy H. Bellas has sentenced Vicente A Sablan to three years imprisonment , all suspended except for four months, in connection with a burglary incident in San Antonio last year.

Assistant Attorney General James Benedetto has recommended a six months imprisonment for Mr. Sablan as he expressed concern on the rise of burglaries on the island, most of which remain unsolved.

Judge Bellas noted that the incident was no ordinary burglary thus, incarceration is just appropriate.

Based on police investigation, Mr. Sablan and three others broke into the fenced property of Ceron heavy equipment shop where they took 23 tires. The owner was able to get the plate number of the vehicle used by the group and immediately called the police for help. Mr. Sablan’s group was later on apprehended and the tires were recovered.
