Woman hit by truck dies

A garment worker died from serious injuries she sustained after a speeding pickup truck mowed her down on Christmas Day in San Vicente near PL’s store.

According to police reports, the woman, identified as Jin Jing Hua, was walking along the road around 7:06 p.m. when she was hit by the vehicle being driven by Beyong Hoon Cho, who was going up on the outer lane.

Mr. Beyong, according to the Department of Public Safety, informed the authorities about the accident and waited at the scene until the ambulance arrived to take the victim to the Commonwealth Health Center.

Police said Ms. Jin sustained a fractured skull, brain tissue damage, lacerated liver, and hematoma. She was pronounced dead at 11:25 a.m. on Dec. 26.

11 injured in car mishap

Eleven persons were injured when a pickup truck they were riding fell into a ravine going up to Banzai Cliff next to the Last Command Post Last Sunday.

Based on the report of the Department of Public Safety, the truck, driven by Jin Distian, 31, had five female and 6 female passengers.

The passengers sustained serious injuries, minor abrasion and lacerations and were brought to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment. (Lucy Rosario)
