Saipan Softball Men’s Slowpitch League Nov. 17,1999 Results

Team Six-Pack and the Ngeaur Comets kept their unbeaten streak alive both coming from behind to defeat their opponent last Wednesday in the Saipan Softball Men’s Slowpitch league.

Team Six-Pack picked up five runs in their last trip to the plate in the top of the sixth on Joe Tudela’s two-run double and two Rangers costly error to take a 20-18 lead, after trailing 18-15, and then held off a possible upset by holding the winless Rangers to just one run for their third win in-a-row handing the Rangers their fourth setback without a win. Nick Castro went 3 for 3 with two homeruns and scored four times to lead Six-pack.

Rayland Towai and Nestor Snyder each hit a homerun and Wise Aguon went 3 for 3 as the Warriors stopped winless Toles Gone in the fifth, 25-6. After each scoring three runs in the first inning, and then coming up empty in the second, the Warriors then took over, out-scoring Toles Gone 22-3 for the shut-out. With the win, the
Warriors improved to 3-1, and handed Toles Gone their fourth loss in-a-row.

In the third game of the night, Sedi Kau improved to 5-1 stopping short their game against Peleliu in the fifth, 22-10. Sedi Kau jumped on top 18-5 after three innings of play and never looked back the rest of the way. Jess Pua, Ned Norita, Mario Aguon, Jess Taitano, and Fuji Suel each hammered one out for Sedi Kau. Darwin
Masaharu, Carney Mobel, and Mabel Ngimgemelas each hit one in a losing effort.

In the final game of the night, the Ngeaur Comets rallied for 13 runs in their last two trips to the plate for a come-from-behind, 14-13 victory over the C.K. Defenders. The Defenders started strong taking an 11-1 lead after 4 1/2 innings, but the Comets then rallied scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth on JoJo Attao and
Joe Guerrero’s homers, and six in the bottom of the sixth on Guerrero and Chris “Extreme Supreme” Palacios’ three-run blast. The victory improved the Comets to 4-0, and dropped the Defenders to 3-1. (Ray Palacios)
