Garapan night market to open in December

Organizers of the Garapan Street Market are inviting artists and vendors to participate in this weekly night market beginning December which is aimed at stirring business activities in Saipan’s tourist district.

According to the committee in charge of the preparation, application forms are now available, along with detailed rules and regulations.

The night market will showcase local artists and entertainers, as well as food and merchandise from different ethnic groups around the Pacific.

The market will be set up on the Third Street in Garapan and will be opened from 6:00 p.m. to 10: p.m. on Thursdays.

Inauguration of the Garapan Street Market has been scheduled for December 2, 1999 with Gov. Pedro P. Tenorio leading the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Organizers said application forms can be picked up at the Marianas Visitors Authority, the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture, the Carolinian Affairs Office and the MVA/DPS Koban in Garapan.
