Schoen is Bank of Saipan’s new chief operating officer
Bank of Saipan announces the appointment of Thomas (Tom) D. Schoen as the new chief operating officer effective Oct. 4, 1999.
Tom has over 30 years banking experience in the Pacific region. Prior to joining the Bank of Saipan, Tom worked for the Bank of Hawaii in Hawaii, Guam, Saipan, and Solomon Islands. He also worked for Citizens Security Bank in Guam.
Tom is no stranger to the Commonwealth. He was in Saipan as branch manager for Bank of Hawaii in 1985 to 1989. His interest in the islands and the people has made him return to the Commonwealth.
Active in community affairs, Tom has been a member of the Rotary Club, Red Cross, Chamber of Commerce, St. John’s Episcopal School (Guam) board, and treasurer of the National Olympic Committee in Guam and Solomon Islands. He is an internationally certified wrestling referee and has officiated in numerous international wrestling tournaments, including the 1999 South Pacific Games.
Tom, originally from New York, is the proud father of two grown up sons and takes pride to a granddaughter.
