The CNMI will hold on Sunday the First International Children’s Fishing Derby for kids from 7 to 12 years old, an event which organizers hope would encourage young children to engage in sport fishing.

The event, which is sponsored by Lt. Gov. Jesus R. Sablan, a sport enthusiast, and the CNMI Division of Fish and Wildlife, will be held on board the Sea Star.

Participants are asked to be at the Sea Plane Ramp by 12:15 pm and check in at Sea Star boat.

They should use rods, baits and hooks provided by the boat and must check in their catch to qualify.

Prizes will be given to winners in the total combined weight and single biggest fish categories.
